Around Town

Our inn is an ideal spot for rest and relaxation. Located on a quiet country road on a bluff overlooking the south branch of the Black River, our inn adjoins blueberry fields and woods sloping down to the river. We have bicycles available for your use or you can use your walking shoes because the Kal-Haven Trail is only two minutes from our front door. Heading west on the Trail you’ll cross a rustic covered bridge on your way toward South Haven and all it has to offer. For the more adventurous, head east on the Trail for some 30 miles all the way to Kalamazoo. Come in October when the summer crowds have gone, to enjoy the changing fall colors along the Trail. For winter sports enthusiasts the Trail offers cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

Of course, South Haven and the surrounding environs open up countless possibilities for fun and excitement as well. Enjoy sun and sand along South Haven’s wonderful shoreline. Take a walk along the pier to the famous lighthouse or board the schooner, ‘Friends Good Will’ for a sunset cruise on Lake Michigan. Sample some of the fine locally produced wines at the many wineries of the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Country.  Beer lovers can choose from a multitude of great craft breweries a short drive from the Inn. Racing fans can enjoy the action at Gingerman Raceway only ten minutes east of our inn. Golfers can tee up at the many great Golf Clubs all within fifteen minutes of our inn. Find that one of a kind item at the many antique stores in town or up and down Blue Star Highway. South Haven and the surrounding communities offer some great dining choices and we will be more than happy to offer our suggestions.
